Childhood and adulthood are
two distinctive life stages. Though they have similarities they differ in
various ways and also are interconnected. In this essay I will focus on the
similarities and dissimilarities of childhood and adulthood especially when it
comes to freedom, stress and influence.
Everyone of us is someone
who lived our childhood or experiencing through it right now. A child may think
to grow up faster to to take free decisions, on the other hand adults sometimes
think if they were a child since they wont be under any concerns, but actually
these both freedoms are entirely different. As a child your decision making
process is mostly undertaken by your parents, and you may be unsatisfied with
it, growing up you may be free in your judgment
but you may feel unsafe. The studies had shown that 21.0% of adults of the age
group 18-29 are suffering from sadness (CDC, 2020) while only 1.7% of children
of the age group 6-11 are affected with the same (Jpeds, 2016).
A child is like a load-free
truck, whose driver takes only loads in his favour from friendly fights and bad
behavior, at the same time growing up as an adult he/she may have to face many
stresses and strains, most of them are occupational stresses, 43% of people
feels their job is stressful (Gullup, 2021) 34% of people have difficulty in
sleeping and 44% reported stressed out eyes (AIS) where as a kid have never
even thought of those stresses.
As childhood and adulthood
are consecutive, childhood has large influence on adulthood, while vice versa is
illogical. Childhood and adolescent mental health problem also have a
significant impact on adult life chances (Ferguson & Woodward 2002) but evidence
for a link between extroversion and mental health problems is less robust, and
in some studies even absent; Clarke, Watson & Mineka (1994).
Being part of out life,
childhood and adulthood has its own importance, their inner-connections make
them inseparable. Examining through the aspects of freedom, stress and
influence of both shows that childhood would be an excellent option if to live
again.
